Celebrant and Master of CeremoniesTo mark your family ceremonies such as weddings, naming, renewal of vows, house or boat blessing, special birthdays, adoption ceremonies, and citizenships, call on my experience and let me write an appropriate ceremony for you. As a civil funeral celebrant, my personal ceremonies suit those who want to mark and celebrate the life of the person who has died, in an alternative to the traditional religious ceremonies, venues and times. Weddings and Renewal of VowsYour wedding day belongs to you – let me make your vision of it come true. Create the day the way you want it to be. I can guide you, do it for you, or stand back and let you do some or all of it your own way. As a civil celebrant and in consultation with you, I will write a ceremony personalised specifically for you; traditional or contemporary and different. Make it fun, shouting from the hill-tops, or quiet and dignified. This is your day. The whole theme is up to you. As celebrant I’m there to act as Master of Ceremonies and to ensure that all of the legal requirements are met. At the end of the day you will be married. I have hundreds of sample ceremonies, readings and speech notes for you to review to help sort out what you want and to make your day truly personal. Naming, Adoption Ceremonies, Special BirthdaysThe rite of entry into a family and to carry its name, or passing an age milestone are very worthy of a special ceremony. You can have as much input into the ceremony as you want. Again as a celebrant I’m there to guide you and to act as Master of Ceremony. I can supply lots of previous ceremonies and ideas for you to review. Home, Ground-breaking, Building and Boat BlessingsA ceremony or ritual that reflects the values and personality of the people involved can be very special. Homes and boats launched with a little ceremony take on a distinct personality that others miss out on. ‘Stepping the Mast’ ceremonies have been performed on the tall sailing ships for thousands of years. The sailors of everything from America’s Cup Yachts to little boats all deserve a fair-weather safe-return rite. Homes particularly need to be ritually converted to happy family homes via a little ceremony. New Zealand CitizenshipThis is a little more technical and has to be approved just like a wedding, through New Zealand Government Internal Affairs. You can have a personal and private ceremony at your own home or some other approved location. I have previous ceremonies and ideas for you to review. Funeral and Life Celebration CeremonyThe Life Celebration Ceremony and Committal Ceremony release the opportunity for your expressions of love in a celebration of the life lived. I can lead you through organising the event so that together we can create a simple, dignified and complete ceremony that really means something to all your family and friends. Fees Each service is different from the last and the next, with variables like travel, time, and meetings. As a guide; Wedding fees start at $275-$350 and ceremonies like Celebrations of Life that require more preparation time start at around $375-$450, so call for a chat about what you would like, and I will give you a firm quote.
